3 Summertime Braids

Braids are great for summertime. They get your hair out of the way, they help your hair stay somewhat neat while at the beach pool or outdoors, keep you cool in the hot temperatures and are a really simple and good looking way to do your hair. If you don't know how to braid don't worry! There are tons of videos on YouTube demonstrating all kinds of braids.

Here are 3 of our favorite braid styles for summer. If you are having problems with any of these styles, ask your stylist for tips!

Standard Side Braid
Simple over the shoulder braid. Take your hair over one shoulder and braid it all the way down: regular braid or fishtail. Then secure any loose, wispy tendrils with bobby pins which come in all different styles and colors; match your bobby pins to your favorite sundress!

Heidi Braids
It is easier than it looks: Start with pigtail braids and secure them on top of your head with bobby pins. Variations include just one braid on one side behind the ear (for longer hair only). Braid in an upward direction and secure it with an elastic band. Pin it with bobby pins across the top of your head like a headband and pin the end behind the opposite ear.

Get Out of My Face Braid
Great for those of your growing out your bangs or if you are tired of your hair sticking to your sunscreened forehead. Just take the front section of your hair and pull it to the side or side-back. Either do a French braid or regular braid in a side or side-back direction and pin it with your favorite clip or (if doing the french braid) braid it all the way down and secure it with a elastic hair band.
